One week.

After months of praying, preparing, packing what felt like a million boxes, and saying some really hard goodbyes, we’re finally here.

Myrtle Beach is home.

This first week has been exciting, exhausting, beautiful, and a little overwhelming—but through it all, God has been incredibly present. We’ve also had a ton of help from our parents, and we wanted to honor them. Their support, encouragement, and willingness to step in (especially on grandparent duty) during such a big transition has meant more than we can put into words. Today is actually the first day it’s just the five of us in over two weeks, and while we’re grateful for the quiet, we’re also feeling the weight of everything that’s changed.

Alongside the excitement, there have been moments of anxiety and even grief that we didn't expect. We miss what was familiar. We miss people we love deeply. There’s a real sense of longing for everything we once knew, even as we step into what God is calling us toward. Romans chapter 5 verses 3-5 have been some we have clung to:

3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Settling In

Moving with three kids is no joke. 😅

There are boxes everywhere, someone is always asking where something is, and the house definitely doesn’t feel like home overnight.

But little by little, it’s coming together.

We’re praying this house becomes a place filled with meals, prayer, worship, discipleship, and people encountering the presence of Jesus.

We've intentionally slowed down this week as we settle in.

Walking neighborhoods.

Exploring parks, the beach and coffee shops.

Meeting neighbors.

Praying as we go.

Already, we've had conversations with more than 20 new people.

It's been such a reminder that church planting doesn't begin with a Sunday service—it begins with people. One conversation at a time.

There are still plenty of unknowns. We don't know exactly how everything will unfold, but we know Who called us here.

Right now, faith looks like unpacking another box, taking another walk, introducing ourselves to another neighbor, and trusting God with each next step.
