Carson and Erin, alongside Cash, Cruz, and baby Phoenix, have made the move to Myrtle Beach to plant SOL Church. This wasn’t a calculated plan — it was a calling we couldn’t ignore. As a family, we’re all in, giving our yes to what God is building here.
We couldn’t ignore it.
This year, the Lord began stirring our hearts toward planting a church — and we obeyed with full hearts. Through prayer, fasting, and a lot of seeking, we kept coming back to one place: Myrtle Beach.
This didn’t come from ambition or a quick decision. It came through seven years of maturing in our faith and our family — seasons of serving, stretching, and obedience — and a steady sense that God kept pointing the same direction.
So we’re leaving comfort, familiarity, and stability behind, and trusting God to build something far bigger than us.
It started here.
We met at Coastal Carolina, and Myrtle Beach is where it all began for us. We led young adult ministry there and spent our first year of marriage in the city.
From there we helped plant a campus of Awaken Church in Charleston. Then came five years in Orlando — growing our family, opening our home, building a community of lifelong friends, and serving on the team at Quay Church.
Now we believe God’s calling us back to where it began.
Spirit Of the Lord.
People ask us all the time: what does SOL stand for? (And our favorite — doesn’t it mean “the sun” in Spanish?) The real answer goes back ten years.
God birthed a young adult movement at Coastal Carolina University called Young & Free — students on fire for Jesus, hungry for a freedom they couldn’t find anywhere else. One night at 2:30 in the morning, we were praying through a name change, and the Holy Spirit dropped in a verse:
That’s where SOL was born — Spirit Of the Lord.
That movement became a huge part of our story with God. It’s where we met, and where we spent years serving alongside people we still love. When the Lord made it clear our time there was complete, we moved to Charleston, and that chapter closed — though there was a notebook, back in 2018, about one day planting a church called SOL.
This year, the name came back. Again and again. We prayed and fasted and questioned it. Again? An old dream? After seven years? Now? The more we prayed, the more there was peace — and vision.
So why SOL? Because we believe people encounter real freedom and healing in the presence of the Lord — not in personas, labels, brands, or our own effort.
SOL is a gathering place for His people, for His name, and for His glory. We just have to move out of the way and let Him move.
