We continue to ask ourselves, “How is time passing so quickly?”
We have been enjoying a slower pace than normal over the past few weeks. Not as many plans or things on the calendar, just spending time with the kids, spontaneously saying yes to evening pool swims, beach adventures, and movie dates.
Today, we sent both boys off to school.
Cruz for the first time ever (entering preschool) and Cash off to Kindergarten.
We are so grateful that the Lord led us to the school they will be going to. A few answered prayers in one: that the boys would be able to be at the same school, receive a Christian education, and have teachers that would show the love of Christ to them all day long!
Pray for Cash and Cruz, their teachers, their classmates and pray for our hearts as we send them off.
I can’t believe our babies are entering school ages!
And then… church planting, SOL.
Next week, we are also prepping to head to Rogers, AR for our church planting assessment with Stadia which is an organization that helps churches start healthily and sustainably.
They will provide coaching, mentorship, and partnership as we prepare to launch SOL over the next few years. The next 12 months are very important!
As we were explaining the assessment to friends and family, we realized a lot of the church planting process is foreign to most people.
We found ourselves answering the same questions, trying to shed light into the process and what exactly we are doing when we say:
“We are planting a church.”
SO… we wanted to write out some frequently asked questions for those curious about how this all works ☺︎
Top FAQs
1. Do you have a building yet?
No! But we do have a home & a living room... we start here. Last week we were able to host 28 people at our home for dinner!
2. When do you officially launch?
We want to be open-handed. Our aim is Fall 2027. These next 12 months are all about building a culture, hosting, praying, eating meals & vision casting. We have prayerfully put together 3 parts of the journey. Fall 2026, January 2027, and into Summer 2027 for team prep & multiplication.
3. Are you affiliated with a denomination or network?
SOL is non-denominational & spirit-led. Starting as a grassroots movement, we are partnering with a local church (The Rock Church) and the Carolina Movement, and we are believing for more church partners this Fall. We are also in the discovery process for Stadia, who has helped plant over 2000 churches in the last 20+ years.
4. Can my church partner with SOL?
100% - SOL is established as a 501c3, with a board of directors & open to personal partners, church partners, business partners & anyone who has a heart to see the Gospel saturate Myrtle Metro. We would love to meet with you via phone or email!
5. Are you working another job? Will my donation go toward your family or the ministry?
No! We recently paused & laid down our training business, "Bulletproof Humans," to fully focus on the mission of SOL — spreading the Gospel, cultivating a strong community & team.
Our family is supported through the financial partnerships of those who believe in and support the mission of SOL. Rather than working another job to provide our family’s income, we are paid through SOL as part of the church-planting budget.
All donations are tax-deductible and go directly to SOL, which is managed by our Board of Directors. Funds are allocated across the needs of our church plant, including our family’s support, ministry expenses, operations, outreach, and other costs associated with planting the church.
6. Can I visit the church if I'm in Myrtle Beach?
Yes! We will be building community heavily over the next 6 months. We see a local body of believers being cultivated over the next year.
